The spot is very cute, litterally 2 steps far from the lake, 40 min. far from the beaches in the County, 15 min. away from Trenton and Belleville. 1 * just for that. But the motel... There was only 1 room left, so we didn't have other choice than to take the "suite": 150$ a nigh, ok. We enter, and the bulky, velvet brown, 50's sofa it's like a punch in the face. On it's left, a single bad is wedged between the sofa and the wall... the "suite" it's for 3 people... Right. A fine layer of dust cover all the dark furnitures in the room, even the chairs. The kitchen is composed of a full size, noisy, old fridge; a 4 burner, rusty, electric stove and a small sink. The master room is equipped with a cumbersome dresser (dusty as well), on top of which a mirror is simply leaned against the wall. The only 1 sidetable is bearing an old-style lamp, which match perfectly the grandma style bedframe. The window blind is broken, and requires 10 good minutes of work to pull it down properly. The bathroom follows the same odd&old vibe. Apart from all of this, the bed was clean with fresh bedsheets, and the mattress looked quite new (even though the springs squeaked at every movement). The bathroom was very clean too. And that's why the second star. The family in charge of the place is polite, even nice. But clearly the efforts spent in the experience offered aim just the level of minimum decency. What a pity for such a nice location.
Clean...small kitchnette..fridge microwave. Dining table chairs..free wifi.tv...owner very pleasant.
Old style motel. Very clean. Good location to visit historical sites in area. Fishing from shore on property. Perch, blue gill, sunfish, bass and catfish. Very good value with area to prepare food. Restaurants and 401 near by. Could use new quilts and curtains that match but all in all, we would stay here again.
All in all had a good experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and there was a new girl in training that day, the owner had a lot of patience and allowed her to take her time and learn. It's always nice to see a place that treats their employees well. The owner also came over and asked if I wanted to borrow a bed for my dog, which I did not need but none the less that was very considerate. The bed and the pillows were also very comfortable. And being pet friendly is always a good quality to have. It's also located right next to the river so it was nice to go out with my dog. The only problems I had were the toilet and sink weren't as clean as I'd like them to be and the website that I booked the room on (booking.ca) led me to believe I was booking the end unit with the "rivet view" but I ended up in the thit'd room down.
Never been to such a dirty place. The only thing clean were the sheets and no bed bugs, thank god.. Only reason for staying there was because the other hotels at the time of the visit were 300 a night while this was 140... Tbh, stay away and go pay the extra 100-150, you'll feel better about staying there.
